Artesia Gardens

Our most cherished praise comes from the families who have entrusted their loved ones to our care.

Many postcards and letters that we receive are an immense source of pride for us. Our relationship with the family does not stop after the resident leaves our Artesia Gardens.

Many families become our ambassadors to the community. In fact, the majority of our referrals come from families of present and former residents.

I am an Adult Ed instructor at Artesia Gardens and find it a very rewarding and fulfilling experience. I have been an Adult Ed teacher for more than 15 years for the North Orange County Community College. As such I have been in classes at most of the facilities from high functioning seniors in day care servers to Alzheimer’s Units such as the population served at Artesia. I really find Artesia Gardens very unique because of the loving-caring helpful aides and the homely atmosphere. It is like being in their own homes with a family that cares and surroundings that are not sterile and high decorated in the latest fashion but more like what they left at home before coming here to live. The programs offered by activities in cooperation with the College and Community are high motivational. Of all my facilities they are the best in musical ability. Many of them enjoy reminiscing and enjoy doing so. The residents are kept clean and receive a lot of snacks.

Love abounds and abides here at Artesia Gardens!

The Cottage management and staff have provided a very high level of care for my husband. The staff is not only competent but also caring, which helps the patients to feel secure in their new environment. I give them all my deepest appreciation for helping with the care of my husband at a time when I cannot provide it in our home.

I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful we are for you! We were at a time in our lives that we could not do things that we never thought we had to do. Thank God my sister found you! We are so happy that Big John was able to stay at the ranch as long as he did. But even more so that when the time came that you were there…

My husband was in the care of the staff at The Cottage at Artesia Gardens for nearly a year. Because I was there often, I had numerous occasions to witness the unstinting and genuine kindness of staff members not only to my husband but to the other patients as well. One day I saw a patient merely scratching her leg and a staff member, seeing this, got lotion and went to the woman, knelt and lotioned her legs. If a caregiver passed my husband needing to respond to someone else, she took the time to smile, pat his shoulder and say, “Hi Vernon!” Several times, late at night, I’d get a call that Vernon had been taken to the hospital. No matter how late it was, no matter how tired she was, the first person to greet me was Inez. I’d tell her to go home but she would not. When it was apparent that Vernon would not live very long, I was invited to stay with him as long as I needed. So I was able to be with him when he died. Inez came at 4 A.M. I oculd go on for page. Thank you Ines, Christian, Chito and so many more.

My wife entered Artesia Gardens Jan. 14th 2003 and has remained there ever since. We have found the caregivers to be empathetic and caring. Eunice is always clean and well-groomed. I have always been very satisfied with her care.

I would like to commend the staff at Artesia Gardens for their friendship and primarily for the care and compassion shown to my late husband, Larry Chrest, while a resident at Artesia Gardens.

My whole family is very satisfied and appreciates all the patience and compassion to my husband, R.G. Townsend. The whole atmosphere was cheerful, compassionate and clean and the patients are well cared for. There are activities to stimulate the patients mentally and physically. The whole staff has my grateful thanks.

I was so fortunate in locating “The Cottage”. From management to staff, each patient is treated as an individual (not just another number or name). The excellent working practices result in the effectiveness of this lovely place. I highly recommend it.

My sister, Eleanor, has received excellent care at The Cottage. Kind management, great staff and clean airy environment are present there.

My mother’s care at The Cottage at Artesia Gardens has always been excellent. I never have to worry is she is being well cared for. She is always clean, dressed and well-fed. If for some reason something, such as illness occurs, everything is handled medically and I am contacted. I have had my mother at severl facilities over the last 17 years. Of all the facilities, the Otbo family and their care of my mother, has always been at the top! They have made my life and my mothers much easier.

I would like to say that it has been such a comfort to know my mother is at The Cottage at Artesia Gardens. She has lived there for nine years now. I have always found her clean and well cared for. Although her Alzheimer’s Disease is very advanced, the caregivers always treat her with love- many hugs and a lot of attention. When she was able, my mother enjoyed the activities. She had been a musician, so she really liked the singing! …We appreciate the Cottage at Artesia Gardens very much.
